about

Often percussionists who work within the realm of improvisation are a little difficult to define from an instrumental point of view. Pablo & Marcelo have a diverse array of materials they utilize for their interactions, building upon the by now well established lexicon of “extended techniques”. Nonetheless when we listen to a duo of two musicians who share similar orchestral options, what becomes interesting to my ear is how they form a musical relationship from piece to piece. Sometimes we can hear that one player forms a kind of frame for the other to punctuate statements and gestures. Sometimes we hear a merging of densities, so that the two sound continuums enrich each other. What is consistent from piece to piece is a vibrant dynamic energy, and a sense of musical tension where we can feel the pushing and pulling of musical invention. Sometimes I even sense echoes of their ancestral Tritonic music at play, giving this music a unique richness in its sense of place.

about

NendoDango Records Buenos Aires, Argentina

Nendo Dango arises to gather not only our music, but also to show a way to reach it, a way of construction in favor of the collective. We believe that sound is like a nendo dango capsule, within all possibilities; every breath of each artist is crossed and transmuted, being one towards oneness, revealing unique and infinite sound-eco-system.
